New Year, New Ventures

Exciting things are happening at Loomis & Lyman in 2019!

First of all, I'm starting a weekly Facebook Live event called Editorial Elevenses. The first Elevenses will be January 16 at 11 a.m. Central on the Loomis and Lyman Facebook page. These will be short sessions covering topics related to editing and the editorial process.

Introducing Editorial Elevenses

In 2018, I was one of the instructors at the ArtStart School of the Arts Legacy Program in Rhinelander, Wisconsin. I had a blast! There were only two people in my class but they were the two people who needed to hear what I had to say about working with a professional editor. Lives were changed (not exaggerating) and friends were made. I applied to teach the class in 2019 and I hope to be spending another week in the gorgeous North Woods of Wisconsin.

Teaching at the School of the Arts was a big leap for me. Another big leap? My Purple Pencil Packages. These are packages designed for small, quick projects that many editors don't want to do. I believe that everyone should have the opportunity to work with a professional editor, whether it's for something small, like a business card, or large, like a book. Purple Pencil Packages begin at $50.

2019 promises to be a year of greater visibility for Loomis and Lyman. I hope you'll join me on the journey!
